How we got started
In 1902, a small mortuary was established as a family business ... a business that would grow in unexpected ways. Mark Pierce, the founder's son, saw the need for fair preneed services. There were too many families who could not afford a funeral at the time of death. He worked to acquire a life insurance company and started providing death benefits to his customers.

Where we are today
Over time, the company grew to provide more of the services demanded by the funeral business. Today, we employ over 115 employees and offer a comprehensive product portfolio, payment methods, growth options, and additional value-added benefits.

Our success has always been closely linked to funeral directors' success. Now, FamilySide is the largest provider of preneed funding products and plays a vital role in the funeral services industry. We take pride in what we bring to our funeral home partners and the families they service.
